​Jewelry Cleaning

Silver may appreciate an occasional polish with a quality polishing cloth. I recommend that you store your pieces in a zip lock or cloth bag to help keep them free of tarnish.   I often oxidize my silver before I complete the piece, creating a contrast between the darkened (oxidized) surface and polished areas. I let the recessed parts of the design carry the darkened color and let the raised parts gleam. Avoid using liquid cleaner on these pieces because it will remove all the oxidation.

 

For jewelry that needs major cleaning, you may use a q-tip to apply liquid cleaner, but I recommend quickly rinsing the piece with a liquid dish soap mix and water; you can use a soft toothbrush to get hard to reach areas.

Please note that it takes up to 48 hours for merchandise to ship once payment is received in full.

 

Why are orders shipped to some states taxed?
I maintain an office/private studio in Pennsylvania. My physical presence in this state requires me to collect sales tax on behalf of this state. State laws require sales tax to be collected according to the address where the merchandise is shipped.

 

Shipping methods
Our packages are sent via the U.S. Postal Service (please specify Priority Mail or Express Mail).  There are expedited options, USPS Express Mail (delivery usually within 1 day).

USPS Express Mail usually delivers the following business day (Monday - Friday) after shipment. USPS Priority Mail delivers 2-3 business days (Monday - Friday) after shipment.

 

Standard delivery for jewelry orders is 5-7 business days and is a flat rate of $9.95 for shipping and handling (plus extra insurance for orders over $300).  Faster delivery is available for an additional fee, please inquire about this option.  If your jewelry merchandise total is over $1,000 we will waive the shipping and handling costs. If you choose Overnight Delivery, additional charges will apply.

Orders typically ship within 2 business days of your order if we receive them by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Returns & Refunds

For one of a kind pieces ordered from my website, if at any time and for any reason, you do not feel that your purchase has lived up to your expectations in terms of quality, simply return it for an exchange or a refund within 15 days of the original purchase.   In such instances please call me at 812-322-6833 or email bette@betteconway.com with your specific concerns.

 

The purchase price of the merchandise will be credited back to your original method of payment. We will also deduct a return postage fee of $7.95. For items exceeding $350 a return postage fee of $12.95 wil be deducted.

 

Returns are processed in the order received and may take 2 to 10 days to be refunded once we receive them. Refunds are processed back to the original method of payment. Credit card refunds will be reflected on your credit card billing statement within one billing cycle.

 

For jewelry purchase through stores that carry Bette Conway jewelry designs, the store's return policy will apply.

 

Sizing

Bracelets

Please measure your wrist as follows:  simply cut a piece of string at least 9 inches long. Wrap the string around your writs. Mark the place where the string meets; that will be minimum length needed for your bracelet.  Cuff bracelet orders must be custom fit to your wrist, so please visit one of the local festvials/events listed on my website, or contact me to make arrangements for measuring.

 

Necklaces/ Sterling Chains

Chains accompanying pendants are available in lengths varying from 16" to 21"; custom lengths can also be ordered.  Addition charges will apply for any custom chain order that varies by more than 2" from what is decribed in my "Original Designs".  For purchases made through the stores that carry my work, you may wish to consult their policy and inquire whether a custom length can be purchased (in most cases, they can).

HOW TO FIND YOUR RING SIZE: 

Many of my custom ring orders can either be made to your size (limited number of similar stones available in some cases) or can be sized for an additional fee of $25 in the case of one of a kind stones.

 

In order to determine your ring size, simply cut a strip of paper several inches long, similar in width to the ring you are ordering. Wrap the strip around your finger. Mark the place where the paper meets. With your ruler, measure the distance between the mark you have made and the beginning edge of the paper. Refer to the chart below:
